Visionary behind SAMA Foundation
G Sriramappa, the Visionary behind Sama Foundation. Sir is a well-known figure in the development sector, having worked with esteemed organizations such as Oxfam, EveryChild, VSO, ActionAid International and currently serving as the Country Director at United Purpose, Bangladesh. During his tenure at EveryChild, Sir has played a crucial role in starting the Sama Foundation, which has grown under his guidance and support. Sir has been an inspiration to many community based organisations, such as READ, an organization from Sathyamangalam. Sir has dedicated his life to making a positive impact in the world, and his contributions will continue to inspire many like us to make a difference in their communities.” It’s great to see people like Sriramappa Gonchikara who are committed to making a positive impact in the world. I hope his work inspires more people to take action and make a difference in their communities.

Guiding force behind SAMA Foundation
Sama Foundation, formed in 2005, is a non-profit organization, The name was derived from the word ‘Sama’ (which means equal). At the beginning, SAMA worked with the inclusive society. In 2010 it collaborated with Smile Foundation (another non-profit organization) and started working on a project called Step e Learning. SAMA not only has worked with inclusive society but also with youths. SAMA is currently running seven Skilled Development and five Educational Centres across.
Mr. Paul Ramanathan was working at EveryChild-UK, EveryChild-UK was mainly focusing on street children, child labour and trafficking children in India. Everychild-UK showed its interest to work among children with disabilities the most marginalized in the society through Inclusive Development Approach. Mr. G. Ramappa, Country Director of Everychild-UK was a key person for starting Sama Foundation.
Ramanathan and group of young people with disability came forward to start SAMA on 28th December 2005.
He even Revived Karnataka Rajya Angavikalara Okkuta (disability Network to advocate and lobby with Government pertaining to the development of persons with disabilities.
Finally founded SAMA Foundation with the support of Every Child – UK in 2005. Working as Executive Director for the past 18 years.

Key Initiatives
School for Everyone
Supporting Government schools to ensure quality education for the children living in difficult condition particularly for disabled children and girl child. Currently we have adopted five Government Schools in Bangalore.
Climate Change
Climate Change is affecting everyone particularly the poor people are at high risk. With the support of Restless Development we are building resilience among the slum dwellers to deal the impact of climate change particularly during heaving flooding. We are also promoting wet waste management as part social enterprises.
Live Inclusive
The motto of the campaign is to promote the celebration of diversity, bringing everyone together, and embracing our differences to foster a brighter and more unified future marked by impactful and positive transformations, particularly among people with disabilities.
Get Skilled | Get Employed
We are in to the skill development initiative for the past 12 years, we are imparting employable skills to the underprivileged youths from slums. So far we reached 6000+ youths with 70% placement. Currently we are running seven centres in Bangalore.
Janadhikara
To improve the standard of living of the urban poor, particularly those residing in slums, we are facilitating the formation of collectives to ensure access to social entitlements and services from the government. Currently, we are working with 6,000 families in DJ Halli and Yelahanka.
Celebrating Childhood
“The childhood shows the man as morning shows the day”. Healthy & Positive childhood is very crucial for their meaningful and happy future. Children who are living in difficult condition are general are denied a happy childhood which destroy their self-esteem. Through Makkala Habba, Adventure and summer camp we create opportunities to celebrate their childhood.
